With our student population growing and budgets dwindling, California Community College counselors and career center staff must use their creativity to deliver the best career services to the 2.9 million students on our campuses. Big Ideas is one of the ways we reach out to do more for less.
Big Ideas give career counselors and their staff short, engaging, active learning career lessons to address unique student populations and provide them with information, resources and next steps to help them get where they want to go. These comprehensive electronic presentation guides provide the presenters with a 20-30 minute presentation that includes a variety of relevant links as well as a student activity and discussion topics.
This year the 5 Big Ideas will focus on Student Success via the CACareerCafe.Com. In addition to the electronic workshop script with video, links and student activity, the 5 new 2011-2012 Big Ideas will arrive with a comprehensive marketing guide career centers can use to promote these student success workshops. The marketing guides will include a customizable press release, faculty e-mail, and workshop flyer.
